Have you noticed all those lovely knit and crochet hearts popping up everywhere? And it is not even Valentine’s Day..I love all those hearts, and during my vacation in Holland I noticed hearts made from wood, metal and fiber. I actually have a great pattern for a KNIT heart and the tutorial will follow in another post. Annemaries haakblog has a sweet crochet heart tutorial that will make your room look very happy. Here is a picture:
Something else caught my eye at my sister’s house in Holland: a heart and soap garland. This looks and smells wonderful and would be decorative in your bathroom or wardrobe etc. Making one is easy and you can use all your small trinkets and knick- knacks.
You need to have: 1) jute rope 2) glue gun 3) needle for stringing 4) beads, pieces of soap, shells, ribbon 5) handknit heart
As you can see from the picture, you string the shell first and after that some small wooden beads and I cut a small soap in half. With a knitting needle you can poke a hole in the soap. I went right through the knit heart and I glued it (at the top and bottom) to the string. On top I made a loop for hanging. Gathering the stuff took longer than making it. Hope you like it too!
