Refinished vanity table and chair

Maybe you remember my post about this vanity table/writing table redo back in August 2012.  This table was in need of some TLC  but after I painted it (layers of blue and cream and glazed with Valspar Mocha) it totally refreshed.

This vanity also came with a small chair or stool.  My mistake, I did not finish the chair at the same time.  You know, it is real hard to achieve the same look and the same finish months apart, but I gave it a try and I think I succeeded.

Yes, I also changed the fabric.

I used layers of Behr Navy blue and Valspar Summer Morning (cream).  After painting I glazed the pieces with Valspar Glaze in Mocha. You can create beautiful finishes with this slow drying glaze.   For this project I used a pre-mixed color that  required no tinting and was ready to use.  You can use one color alone or apply multiple coats of different colors for a blended effect.

Some blue peeking through.

A small piece of wallpaper on the inside gives it a finished look.

Love the upholstery fabric of the stool.  What a difference makes a new piece of fabric!

I would love to keep this set myself  but I have no space anymore in my house!  If you live in Northern Virginia and are interested to buy..let me know!  You can also purchase this through
