Yardstick picture display

I completely agree with Charles Caleb Colton who once said:  “Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery”.

A couple of weeks ago I read a post on Artsyvava’s blog explaining how she designed  a picture display from a yardstick.  Artsyvava actually got the idea from someone who used the discs as jewelry.   The minute I saw the picture display, I knew I had to make this.  I had everything on hand:  yardstick…check, clothes pins….check, glue….check, paint….check, stamps and ink….check.  The only thing I needed were a couple of wooden 3 inch discs at Michael’s.    Here is a picture of “some” of  the materials needed:

At first I painted the 3″ wooden discs with acrylic paint I stamped them in Timber brown from Staz On.   The clothes pins were spray painted  in a silver metallic.    After everything dried I glued the clothes pins to the discs and to the yardstick.  Love the result!  Here is my picture:

  1. What a cute project! Aren’t yardsticks just so simple, but fun at the same time? Have a wonderful visit with your sister!

    • You are right: I always purchase them at yard sales or thrift stores. Believe me, I am enjoying my sister’s visit very much! Lots of coffee and tea..
